On Exhibit July 3 through July 31, 2026

Youth Still Life Drawing Class; Weston Library July 11 1:30 to 3:30  Class Size Limited 

Must be at lease 8 years old. This is a structured drawing class teaching students to see value, compare size and direction and produce a realistic drawing of a still life. Beginner students will use photo of a still life. More advanced students will use still life set up with lighting. Pencil, paper erasers  and light drawing board will be provided for the class. Adults Still Life Class  Weston Library July 18,  10 am till noon   Class Size Limited

This class will focus on drawing or painting a still life. Students will work on comparing value, proportion and angles to draw or paint what they see from life. There will be a few still life set up with lighting. Students can either draw or paint. Those who paint  should have some previous drawing experience and must bring their own supplies including a portable easel set up and drop cloth. Pencil, paper, erasers and a light drawing board will be provided for those who draw. To register email cindywagnerart@gmail.com Please write Adult Art Class in Subject

Exhibition Requirements

•          Open call for fine art paintings, drawings, collage, photography, digital art, AI art. The Library does not permit free standing sculptures. Sculptors                   may submit preliminary drawings or lighter weight reliefs that can securely hand on the library’s display system.          

•          Weston Commission for the Arts and the Library requires exhibiting artist to sign a liability waiver and loan agreement form.

•          Artist must be 14 years or older to be considered for exhibit

•          The exhibition is themed Weston Celebrates America 250 .

•           All art must be hand delivered at receiving and picked up at the Library at the assigned dates.

•          Artist will provide a one-page bio including contact information for sales. Artist will handle sales and deliveries independently. 

•           No nudes, offensive art, or art inappropriate for children.

•          Maximum size 42 by 42 including frame, maximum weight 40 lbs.

•          Gallery-wrap canvas without additional frame is permissible. Works must be securely wired for hanging.No saw-toothed hangers.

•          Artwork must be available from receiving till the close of the exhibit.

•          Art must be free of copyright infringement.

•          No Entry Fee

Deliver artwork to Weston Library on July 1, 1:00 to 4:00 PM

Art removal August 1,11:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Meet the Artist Reception July 8, 5:30 to 7:30 PM

Workshop July 11, 1:30 to 3:30 PM

Workshop July 18, 10:00AM -12:00PM

 

Submissions     (Submission date has passed submissions  are closed) 

•           Submit up to 3 artworks to cindywagnerart@gmail.com

•          Subject of Email Weston Celebrates America 250

•          Please Complete, sign and attach submission form 

•          Please make sure to rename your images files with your Last name_Your First Name_Title of Art. We use this information during the jury process to

            identify which art belong to which artist. 

•          Attach your JPEG images 2 MB or less and submission form 

•          Submission does not guarantee selection for the exhibit 

•          Substitutions and late entries will not be accepted                                 

 

Artwork Delivery

•          Hand Delivery to Weston Library 56 Norfield Road, Weston, CT 06883 On July 1, 2026 between 1PM to 4 PM

•          Art must be wired and ready to hang on the Library Display System No saw tooth hardware.

•          All waivers and Library forms must be signed and delivered at receiving.

•          Provide one page Bio and contact information for sales 

•          Works for sale or Not for Sale are acceptable. Please note that all sales and deliveries are to be handled by the Artist and the buyer independently.               Artwork cannot be removed prior to the end of the exhibit. 

•          The receiving committee reserves the right to refuse any painting that is not professionally presented or differs significantly from the submission                 photo                                                                        

 

Artwork Removal

All art MUST be picked up and removed Saturday, August 1, 2026 between 11:00 and 2:00PM at the Weston Library. Works not removed at this time will be removed from the Library, charged $20/day storage fee and stored at the artist's own risk. Art will be stored for a Maximum of 15 days and will then be donated.

 

Agreement of Entry and Liability 

While every effort will be made to safely handle your art, artists may want to self-insure their work. Entry gives your consent to participate in this exhibition with the understanding that neither the Weston Library, the town of Weston nor the Weston Commission for the Arts can be held liable for any damage, loss, or dispute. Please be aware the Library Community Room is used by all ages, including young children.

 

Entry gives your consent for selected works to be included in promotional materials printed and online.
